Recycling Services for Schools
In addition to providing an important educational message, school recycling programs can reduce a school's waste disposal costs. Free cardboard bins and recycling containers and service are provided to schools as part of rate funded services. Check the list below to see whether your school already participates in the ongoing recycling service. For special events, recycling frames and clear plastic bags can be provided for the collection of recyclable materials. The recyclable materials can either be added to the school’s recycling carts if the school participates in that program, or bottles and cans can be taken to a recycling center to obtain the redemption value as a school fund raiser (please also see Cash for Class Programs below). To request these services, call the Recology Yuba-Sutter Recycling Coordinator at (530) 749-4220, or email email@example.com.
The following schools participate in the school recycling service program.
Cash for Class is a fundraising program that is as easy as 1,2,3... First, encourage students, parents, faculty and friends to save their California Redemption Value (CRV) aluminum cans. Second, have them bring the CRV aluminum cans to the Recology Yuba-Sutter buy-back recycling center located at the Marysville Transfer Station at 3001 N. Levee Road (off Highway 20). Third, have them donate those cans to your classroom, school or organization. Recology Yuba-Sutter will pay $2.50 per pound for that aluminum and send your classroom, school or organization a check!
The goal of the program is to teach students the importance of recycling and to help raise money for class rooms, schools or youth organizations. By establishing recycling habits at an early age today's youth with be tomorrow's adult recyclers. The community will be sending less material to the landfill and saving natural resources. If you have any questions regarding your school's participation in Cash for Class please call the Recology Yuba-Sutter Recycling Coordinator at (530) 749-4220, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
